πŸ“± Account & Home Setup

Steps 1–10 get your eSphere account created and your home configured before you touch the hardware.

Step 1 β€” Download the eSphere app

Search for eSphere in the App Store or Google Play Store, then install it on your phone to begin setup.

Step 2 β€” Create an account

Open the app and tap Create an account.

Note: eSphere Android does have Apple/Google SSO available in the sign-up flow; however, we are asking users to rely on personal email and phone number authentication at this time as SSO is not yet standardized

Use your personal email address β€” not a work or shared account.

Step 3 β€” Enter your phone number or email

Enter the phone number or email address you'd like to associate with your eSphere account.

Step 8 β€” Set home address

Your home address auto-populates from your location, but may need updating if you live in a densely populated area.

Step 9 β€” Set home details

Tell us about your home type and size. These details help eSphere tailor alerts and insights for your living space.

Step 10 β€” Allow location permission

Tap Always Allow and keep Precise Location on for the most accurate presence detection. You may need to confirm this in your phone's settings as well.

Important
eSphere requires Precise location permission β€” not Approximate. If you select Approximate, presence detection will be less accurate. We recommend setting this to While Using the App.

πŸ”Œ Sensor 1 β€” Scan & Connect

Steps 11–23 walk you through physically installing and connecting your first sensor.

Step 11 β€” Select number of sensors

Confirm the number of sensors you'll be installing. Most homes are configured with two sensors for full coverage.

Step 12 β€” Begin Sensor 1 setup

Tap Start to begin the setup flow for your first sensor. The app will guide you through scanning, plugging in, and connecting.

Step 16 β€” Sensor is ready to plug in

The app confirms the sensor is recognized and ready to be plugged into a wall outlet.

For the most accurate presence detection, install the sensor in an open, unobstructed, central location. If you have multiple floors, position a sensor centrally on each floor β€” avoid stacking sensors directly above or below each other.

Step 17 β€” Confirm the indicator lights

Plug in the sensor. You should see:

  • πŸ”΅ Solid blue β€” bottom light, sensor is powered on
  • 🟒 Flashing green β€” top light, sensor is in setup mode and ready

If you don't see both lights, unplug the sensor, wait a moment, and plug it back in.

Step 18 β€” Enter the sensor location

Label this sensor with the room it's installed in (e.g. Living Room, Kitchen). This makes alerts and insights easier to read.

Enter sensor location screen

Step 19 β€” Allow Bluetooth permission

Tap Allow so eSphere can find your sensor over Bluetooth. You can also enable this later in your phone's app settings.

Step 20 β€” Stay nearby while it links

Stay in the same room as your sensor while it links to your account. The app uses Bluetooth to complete the pairing. Do not leave the page during this step.

Step 21 β€” Connect to Wi-Fi

Enter your home Wi-Fi network name and password so the sensor can stay connected once it's installed.

Connect to Wi-Fi screen

Make sure your phone is on the same Wi-Fi network you're entering here. If you have separate 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands, they must share the same network name (SSID). See our eSphere FAQ for help.

Step 22 β€” Confirm the connection

The app will confirm a successful Wi-Fi connection. If anything fails, retry the password or move closer to your router.

Step 23 β€” Your first sensor is live βœ…

You're done with Sensor 1. The sensor will continue learning its surroundings and updating firmware in the background β€” this is normal.

βž• Sensor 2 & Beyond

Steps 24–29 cover adding your second sensor, pairing via Bluetooth, and inviting your household.

Step 24 β€” Begin Sensor 2 setup

Tap Start to begin the setup flow for your second sensor. The app guides you through the same steps as before β€” repeat Steps 13–22 for each additional sensor. Plan on about 5 minutes per sensor.

Step 25 β€” Repeat for additional sensors

For each additional sensor, repeat Steps 13–22. The app will guide you through the same flow each time.

Step 26 β€” Bluetooth pair

Pair your phone briefly via Bluetooth so eSphere can recognize it as a presence device. Only one device can be paired at a time.

Step 27 β€” Welcome to your home πŸŽ‰

You're in. Tap Let's invite residents to bring household members and visitors into the experience.
